195 Triumph TR8 V8 Convertible (1980-81)
Triumph TR7 V8 (1980-81) Engine 3528 cc V8 OHV Production 2497
The TR7 that should have been from the outset with a Rover V8 engine developing 133bhp in US de-toxed form. Power steering standard and automatic optional. Available in Sports Coupe and Convertible.
There are many TR7 that were converted and this may be one, the badges read 4.6 litre which would indeed pack a punch but whether this was a 2.0 ltr TR7 or a re-engined TR8 as it would have been easy and worthwhile to swop a US spec 3.5 for a 4.6 i could not say.
On a personal note i know that there was a large batch of cancelled export cars that remained unsold as i attended a closed auction at the British Car Auction, Measham sale rooms
Shot at the Sandbach Festival of Transport 18.04.2010 Ref 52-195
